Earth Day Snacktivity: Chocolate Avocado Pudding with Broccoli Tree
Ingredients
1 Avocado
1 cup milk of choice
2 teaspoons cocoa powder
1 chocolate graham cracker or about 4 Oreo-style wafers
Optional: small broccoli floret for tree decoration
Tools
Blender
Butter knife
Spoon
Liquid measuring cup
Measuring spoons
Flexible spatula
Small clear cup
Recipe Steps
**Grown-up**: set up blender and take off lid.
Cut avocado. With a butter knife or kid chef knife, cut one line around the outside of whole avocado, pull apart halves.
Scoop avocado. Use a spoon to scoop out the pit and throw in trash. Scoop the rest of the avocado into the blender.
Measure milk. Measure 1 cup milk with a liquid measuring cup and pour into blender.
Measure cocoa powder. Measure 2 teaspoons cocoa powder and pour into blender.
Blend. Put the lid on the blender and blend until smooth.
**Grown-up**: use a flexible spatula to scrape the pudding into a small clear cup.
Smash graham cracker. Use fingers to break a chocolate graham cracker (or Oreo-style cookie) into small pieces. Or, place in a plastic freezer bag and pound with something heavy like a soup can.
Plate your noms. Sprinkle graham cracker bits on top of pudding. Optional decoration: break a broccoli “tree” off of the broccoli bunch with your hands, and stick it in the “dirt.”
