PB&J Sushi


Serves 1 as Lunch or snack

15 minutes prep time

The rundown:

  1. First you'll cut up strawberries and banana
  2. Then you'll spread peanut butter on a wrap
  3. Then you'll add the fruit
  4. Then you'll roll it up!

  • Vegan, vegetarian, dairy free
  • Can be made peanut free and gluten free


  • For peanut allergy, substitute with any nut butter of your choice
  • For gluten allergy, substitute gluten-free tortillas

Grown-up Pro Tips

  • This makes one wrap, enough for one person. To feed more family members, just make an assembly line for as many wraps as you need.

Shopping List

  • 1 whole wheat tortilla (about 7” in size)

  • Crunchy or smooth peanut butter (you’ll need 3 TBSP)

  • 2 strawberries

  • 1 banana

  • Wash hands

  • Get ingredients

    • 1 whole wheat tortilla

    • 2 strawberries

    • 1 banana

    • Peanut butter

  • Get tools

    • Cutting board

    • Kid chef knife (or butter knife)

    • Butter knife

    • Tablespoon measure

  • Place 1 tortilla on cutting board


  • Measure 3 tablespoons of peanut butter

    • Use your finger to scrape on top of the tortilla

  • Spread peanut butter

    • With butter knife, until most of tortilla is covered

  • Trim 2 strawberries

    • Wash 2 strawberries

    • Cut off tops of 2 strawberries with child safe knife or butter knife

  • Slice 2 strawberries

    • Place them cut side down on the cutting board

    • Aim for slices about ¼” thick

  • Peel banana, cut off ends

  • Slice banana

    • Aim for slices about ¼” thick

  • Arrange banana and strawberry slices

    • Cover all the peanut butter

    • Have fun, make a pattern!

  • Roll it up

    • Starting from one edge, carefully roll the tortilla into a burrito shape

  • Cut it up

    • Cut it down the middle of the tortilla

    • Then cut each half in half (making 4 pieces total)

  • Clean up

  • Serve with lunchtime snacks (our fave: carrots and hummus)
