(starting approximately 8/28/17 and ending approximately 12/15/17)
Social Media and PR Internship
Nomster Chef, a startup in NYC, is looking for several social media and PR interns for the fall semester. Nomster Chef is a company helping families with kids age 3-12 cook meals together to promote healthy eating habits in children. It’s a new company, and will be launching a Kickstarter campaign in the fall. Nomster Chef is located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, NYC.
Potential intern tasks fall into 3 main buckets:
Original Editorial Content for Blog, Newsletter, Instagram/Facebook/Twitter
Pitching content ideas
Creating original graphics for posts
Taking and editing photos for posts (which may also include cooking, prop procurement, and food styling)
Shooting and editing video/GIFs for posts
Building and maintaining social media presence
Cultivating followers across social media channels (commenting, liking, sharing community members’ posts)
Finding relevant content from other sources for us to share on Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest
finding media outlets/bloggers that may be interested in writing a feature story about Nomster Chef’s Kickstarter campaign
Pitching media outlets/bloggers
Juniors or Seniors in Communications, Public Health, Culinary, or related fields
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Excellent written communication skills, preferably have experience writing for a student publication or a non-personal social media account or blog
An interest in cooking, food, or food-related media content
Prior volunteer or paid work with children and/or families, or an interest in children’s media
For students interested in creating visual content (graphics, photos, video): Proficiency in either Illustrator, Photoshop, or Premiere
Fall semester: beginning approximately 8/28/17 and ending approximately 12/15/17 (dates flexible). Possibility to extend into Spring semester as well.
2-4 days per week
This is an unpaid internship. It is preferred that you receive college credit for this internship.
