Nomster Chef Social Media and PR Internships
Summer Semester 2018
Nomster Chef, a startup in NYC, is looking for several social media and PR interns for the summer semester. Nomster Chef is a company helping families with kids age 2-12 cook meals together to promote healthy eating habits in children. The company was founded by a 2009 IC Television-Radio graduate and recently completed a successful Kickstarter campaign. Nomster Chef will launch its first product, a digital library of illustrated recipes for kids, in July 2018.
Nomster Chef is located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, NYC. These internships can either be remote or in Brooklyn, depending on the intern’s preference.
June 4th- August 10 (11 weeks), 2-3 days per week. Possibility to extend into Fall Semester if desired.
PR Intern: interacting with traditional media and influencer contacts; writing and sending PR pitches for launch; creating PR materials for launch; researching and coordinating in-person PR events
Content Marketing Intern: Helping with pre-production and production for Facebook Live broadcasts; editing promotional videos; cooking, photographing, and writing recipe blog posts; creating graphics, photographs, GIFs for launch, special campaigns, and “evergreen” content
Social Media Intern: Planning launch campaign on social media; write weekly newsletter; find content to share on Facebook and Instagram; write and schedule weekly posts for Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest; engaging with Instagram and Facebook community by liking and commenting related posts
Rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors in communications majors
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Excellent written communication skills
An interest in cooking, food, or food-related media content
Prior volunteer or paid work with children and/or families, or an interest in children’s media
For Social Media Intern: experience writing for a student publication or a non-personal social media account or blog
For PR Intern: strong research skills
For Content Marketing Intern: proficiency in Premiere, proficiency in Photoshop or Illustrator, photography experience, cooking ability
This is an unpaid internship. It is preferred that you receive college credit for this internship.

Work samples. If you have a portfolio website, send the link to that. If not, send a few examples of your work as attachments or via Dropbox/Google Drive. Work samples could be: a link to a business social media account that you’ve run (NOT a personal account), a short writing sample (blog post, student publication article), a PR/Marketing plan deck, graphic design/illustration, photography, etc... Anything that you feel best exemplifies your work.
