Nomster Chef Internships
Fall Semester 2018
Nomster Chef, a startup in NYC, is looking for several interns for the fall semester. Nomster Chef is a company helping families with kids age 2-12 cook meals together to promote healthy eating habits in children. The company was founded by a 2009 Ithaca College Television-Radio graduate and was created in the Stanford Graduate School of Education. Nomster Chef completed a successful Kickstarter campaign in Fall 2017 and launched in Summer 2018.
Nomster Chef is located in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn, NYC. These internships can either be remote or in Brooklyn, depending on the intern’s preference.
September 10- November 16 (10 weeks), 8-16 hours per week depending on role. Hours can be distributed to fit around class times and other commitments. (Note: these internships will end in November, and not be the entire duration of the semester).
PR Intern (8-10 hours per week): interacting with traditional media and influencer contacts; writing and sending PR pitches; coordinating collaboration campaigns with Instagram/Facebook/YouTube influencers; creating PR materials like press release and media kit
Content Marketing Intern (10-12 hours per week): Creating recipe blog and social media content (pitching recipe idea, cooking recipe while photographing and videographing cooking, editing photos, writing blog post, editing recipe video); creating promotional video content as needed
Social Media Marketing Intern (10 hours per week): Scheduling social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest; write twice weekly newsletter; create social media graphics/GIFs/short videos; helping with pre-production for Facebook Live broadcasts; developing social media strategy
Graphic Design and Illustration Intern (8-16 hours per week): Creating new illustration assets for Nomster picture book recipes; Layout text and illustration in panels for Nomster picture book recipes; Creating marketing graphics as needed
Sophomores, juniors, or seniors in communications or art majors
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Excellent written communication skills
For all interns:
An interest in cooking, food, or food-related media content
Prior volunteer or paid work with children and/or families, or an interest in children’s media
For Social Media Intern: experience writing for a student publication or a non-personal social media account or blog, basic proficiency in either Photoshop or Illustrator, basic proficiency in Premiere
For PR Intern: strong written communications skills, familiarity with the business of social media influencers
For Content Marketing Intern: Photography experience, cooking ability, proficiency in Premiere and ability to edit videos quickly, basic proficiency in Photoshop, strong written communications skills
For Graphic Design and Illustration Intern: Proficiency in Illustrator (required) and Photoshop (preferred), experience creating original digital illustrations
This is an unpaid internship. It is preferred that you receive college credit for this internship.

Work samples. If you have a portfolio website, send the link to that. If not, send a few examples of your work, like a link to a business social media account that you’ve run (NOT a personal account), a short writing sample (blog post, student publication article), a PR/Marketing plan deck, graphic design/illustration, photography, etc... Anything that you feel best exemplifies your work. Send work samples as attachments, a website URL, or through a link like Dropbox or Google Drive
