Nomster Chef Social Media and PR Internships
Spring Semester 2018
Nomster Chef, a startup in NYC, is looking for several social media and PR interns for the spring semester. Nomster Chef is a company helping families with kids age 2-12 cook meals together to promote healthy eating habits in children. The company was founded by a 2009 IC Television-Radio graduate and recently completed a successful Kickstarter campaign. Nomster Chef will launch its first product, a digital library of illustrated recipes for kids, in Spring 2018.
Nomster Chef is located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, NYC. These internships will be conducted mostly remotely with video call check-ins (and a few in-person meetings in Ithaca).
Social Media Marketing Intern: write posts for Twitter and Facebook, maintain our Pinterest page, help increase Instagram followers by engaging with our community, and write our weekly newsletter.
Content Marketing Intern: write posts and take photographs/videos for our Blog (mainly cooking and recipe posts), help with photography, graphic design, and copy for special marketing campaigns
PR Intern: researching and maintaining relationships with influencers (bloggers, Instagrammers, YouTubers), setting up content collaborations with influencers, helping with general PR research projects
Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors in communications or business majors
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Excellent written communication skills
An interest in cooking, food, or food-related media content
Prior volunteer or paid work with children and/or families, or an interest in children’s media
For students interested in creating written content: experience writing for a student publication or a non-personal social media account or blog
For students interested in creating visual content (graphics, photos, video): Proficiency in either Illustrator or Photoshop, Premiere a plus
Spring semester: beginning 1/22/18 and ending 5/4/18. Possibility to extend into Summer semester as well.
8-10 hours per week (can be split over multiple days and work around class schedules)
This is an unpaid internship. It is preferred that you receive college credit for this internship.

Work samples. If you have a portfolio website, send the link to that. If not, send a few examples of your work, like a link to a business social media account that you’ve run (NOT a personal account), a short writing sample (blog post, student publication article), a PR/Marketing plan deck, graphic design/illustration, photography, etc... Anything that you feel best exemplifies your work.
